Time With Projects

Posted on May 12, 2026May 12, 2026

I took the time to have a good visit with Tuck this morning. She still will come sit on my hand which is nice. But she was brave enough to peck around in the coop until a cranky red hen pecked at her and she ran away. It will be another month before I’ll consider letting her loose with the other hens, but she will probably need a safe house to escape to.

I reworked my outhouse, I rearranged it so it is now longer front to back. Brandon and Megan drove by and we discussed what was laying around to build with. They hauled down some tin from the shop loft but it wasn’t enough to cover the roof. You’d think we would have a ton of plywood or planks around but we don’t! However, Vernon is going to go pickup some fencing stays tomorrow and I asked if he’d check to see if the wood guy would have some 1” slabs for cheap. Vernon said he’d check on materials for me, which will be exciting as I’m stuck with no building material!

Since I was stuck there, I moved to my cardboard/ paper mache bald eagle I’m making for the 4th of July parade. The body may be getting close… and I’ll soon move to making wings!

I don’t know that I will work on him to make his body rounder… he will be getting feathers, and that may make him look better. Time will tell!
