New Item

Posted on December 19, 2023

Delivery of a new item at the ranch today! Here’s hint number one… Hint number two… Last minute leveling and then it arrived. I’m up out of the way, keeping me and my dogs out of the danger zone. While I watched, all I could think of… was how happy I am to live surrounded…

97%

Posted on December 18, 2023

I rode along with Vernon on a trip over to Buffalo. We haven’t had much winter yet, and it seemed bizarre to cross the mountain and not have much snow in mid December! This is Powder River Pass… 9,666’ in elevation, and only a couple of inches on the ground. There’s plenty of wintertime left…

Christmas Play

Posted on December 18, 2023

We attended the children’s Christmas program this morning… and I took photos… duh. But in every one, Jaxon was out of focus, or Reagan looked mad (she wasn’t!), or someone’s head was blocking Lacee. The lighting was bad or something was just WRONG. I haven’t failed that bad in a while… However, we do have…

Huntress

Posted on December 15, 2023

My third “dog” accompanied me on my walk today… Among the rushes… Catching up, though often “ambushed” by the two dogs … C’mon, then! Temporary safe zone… Always the huntress.

#TBT: The UN-Party, v.2.0

Posted on December 14, 2023

This was first published December 18, 2012! I really think we need another… it’s been a while, ladies! For years… and years… the women of the Upper Nowood have held a Christmas party.  Nowood Creek runs north through this area passing through or near many of our places.  If we’re not on the Nowood, chances…

Another One

Posted on December 12, 2023

I’m blaming the National Finals Rodeo. After supper, I’ve been planting myself on the couch and watching it on RFD-TV. My daytime plans about “crafting all day with no guilt” never seem to appear. Last week, I did manage to squeak out some keychains, and a snowman, and the cutest little fox… Hopefully, tomorrow, I’ll…

The Cutest

Posted on December 11, 2023

Was lucky enough to get a root canal today, ending a partially horrible weekend… thanks to my great dentist, I’m feeling much better and, hey… my calendars are here and my little Christmas note cards came in, too! As an aside, thanks to a photo from Megan, I actually am *IN* my own calendar for…

Craig

Posted on December 10, 2023December 12, 2023

It’s a Christmas tradition… author Craig Johnson comes to the Ten Sleep Library and reads his Christmas themed short story. Not only did we have cookies provided by the Friends of the Ten Sleep Library, we also served a hot cocoa bar. Pick your favorite “topping” to put in your hot chocolate… I didn’t even…

Willing to Trade

Posted on December 9, 2023

I tried to do this idea I’ve had for years. It involves sewing, however, and sewing is nothing for me but a pain in the you-know-what! I always think it’s going to be quick and easy, but I battle with my machine soooo much, I get frustrated. I grew up in a household where we…
