Snowflakes!

Posted on December 8, 2023

My new favorite craft? Making snowflakes from small brown lunch bags! I made a white bag one last year, but found the white snowflake on the white walls of the library didn’t show up. Switching to brown made a ton of difference. The ones I made for the library can be seen in the windows….

#TBT: For Jan, v.2.0

Posted on December 7, 2023

This was first posted December 11, 2012. <giggle> I *told* her I’d dedicate this blog to her… so Jan, here ’tis! While on the phone with a Dear Friend of mine, I was multi-tasking, telling her what I was making… she, giving me her version…  Let me back up a bit. I’d seen these beautiful…

New Employee?

Posted on December 5, 2023

Meant to have craft project photos done to share… but Vernon and I sat down to watch a movie tonight. It totally made me forget tonight’s plans. I keep managing to miss the riding, gathering, and loading critters… so there’s no ranch type photos either. Guess you’ll just have to be satisfied with pictures of…

Open House and Silent Auction

Posted on December 4, 2023

Whew. That was fun. Over 130 items. From sourdough bowls/starter/whisk/recipes to tree ornaments, from crystal wine glasses to lap quilts, from aprons to a wooden rocking horse, there was something for everyone. I believe there were over 70 bidders. The cookies and goodies were delicious. It was fun and festive and warm! I think this…

Hot Chicken

Posted on December 2, 2023

Trying something new today. These heat lamps are a pet peeve of mine. They are cheaply made. They are very hot. They can start fires if they fall. I just don’t particularly care for the product! But when the weather drops, I need to keep my chickens warm. For those who insist that’s not necessary,…

Being Here

Posted on December 2, 2023

I have to admit, running inside from putting up outdoor Christmas decorations because Brandon just texted me is one thing… but to be able to pull up the live auction happening in Riverton, Wyoming is super cool. Lacee and Reagan and I could text Brandon… watch it be delivered and read by him on his…

#TBT: Big and Small Wyoming, v.2.0

Posted on November 30, 2023November 30, 2023

This was first published December 3, 2012. Sigh. Back home again. While I’m thrilled to be back online, I will miss those little boys and their antics, oh, yes, the parents, too…   The twins are just beginning to walk, so life is definitely a Big Adventure! So… gee… where to start? I *had* planned to…

Finish That Fence

Posted on November 28, 2023

The posts that were pounded in a few days ago finally gained their rails of continuous fence. Brandon and Vernon worked on cutting saddles in the top of the posts and aligning the rest as good as possible. Brandon was there alone welding when I wandered over. Not the prettiest of fences we’ve ever built,…

Part Two

Posted on November 27, 2023

This is part two of our family craft night. The interior 20 sided “ball” is complete and we now will add all the points! Three half size straws will now be tied to the small quarter size triangles. As you can see, Reagan’s pink straws are being tied to the green. Parental help was very…
