Aspen Alcohol Ink

Posted on October 4, 2025October 4, 2025

Well, it has arrived. Our first real rain since spring. .56” ! It’s still raining, too. While I could have still cleaned my chicken coop, my heart wasn’t in it. So… time for crafts! Victoria bought me this Yupo paper for alcohol ink. The paper is translucent and it looks the best back-lit, so I…

We’re decorating for fall then Halloween… our big Harvest Dinner with raffle and silent auction… an author visit with Scott Werbelow “Son of a Poacher” (for any outdoor person, it’s a rollicking trio of books)… book discussion… adult craft night… then…

Meet Roxie

Posted on September 30, 2025September 30, 2025

Well, we met my new rooster yesterday, (still no name), but today I’ll introduce you to Daniel’s new puppy. This is Roxie. 9 week old, Australian Shepherd. They had been looking for a new dog as their other female Aussie was getting old. Poor Tina disappeared a few weeks ago without a trace. They searched…

Suggestions?

Posted on September 29, 2025September 29, 2025

It must just be his bad side because this guy is pretty handsome… This is my new rooster, courtesy of Victoria. Out of her chicks, 3 turned out to be roosters. I haven’t had a rooster for a couple of years, so I’m giving it a try again. The cost of chicks has gone up…

Excitement

Posted on September 28, 2025September 28, 2025

When the highlight of your day is cleaning your stovetop… it’s a challenge to blog. I also washed out my vacuum. Can you say, EXCITEMENT? No photo can exemplify today… or maybe I just didn’t take one! Cheers to the boring days that make other days seem much more special.

Classic Train

Posted on September 28, 2025September 28, 2025

The day was full of homecoming games… volleyball and football. You win some, you lose some. I’ve been wanting to share this little guy all summer. This little train was found over at Brandon’s house. It was the spot where so many hired hands lived over the years of this ranch. I wanted to post…

Good Conference

Posted on September 27, 2025September 27, 2025

I’ve spent the past few days at the Wyoming Library Association conference in Casper. We were lucky enough to listen to Shamichael Hallman, author of “Meet Me at the Library”. Then there was Mychal Threets, who teams up with PBS and promotes libraries with viral TikTok videos… I didn’t get a pic with Rebecca Hass,…

Wean Work

Posted on September 23, 2025September 23, 2025

The day started with low clouds… and I mean LOW… But as the morning progressed… the weather improved. And, hey, the cows were all still in! They were quickly corralled and we began to sort.
