Treasures

Posted on September 9, 2011January 30, 2015

My sister is visiting from Texas… and we finally decided to do something FUN, instead of either cooking or cleaning or rebuilding!

It was a last minute decision, but we decided to go look for treasure!
We headed for a cabin and found a few…
treas1
Hand hewn logs…
treas2
An original bar “keeper” (as in “Katie, bar the door!”)…
treas3
Harness hardware…
treas4
A button…
treas5
Then we went to a dugout and found some great pottery…
treas6
Even the top and handle to a jug…
treas7
We made piles of purple glass and stoneware and harness and cool rocks…
treas8
And even found a Butternut Coffee lid that had been repurposed for something…
We found all sorts of treasures…
but the best?
Time spent in each other’s company!

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
