Cheers!

Posted on November 27, 2011April 1, 2015

Here’s another project.

The idea is from a Girl Scout friend of mine.  She keeps all the corks from her wine… and actually makes a *cork* board from them.  I had to ask for donations to get enough corks.  Maybe I should up my wine intake!
I’ve planned to do this one a long time, too…
I bought a cheap little wooden tray and painted it turquoise.
Then a couple of days ago, I spotted this on Pinterest.  Very cool variety on what I’d already planned… time to add a twist!

First was the layout.  I did plenty of cutting with my utility knife… just cut on top of a board you don’t care about and make sure your blade is sharp!  Once I started gluing corks down… I did more trimming!

Since I plan to actually use this as cork board… I wasn’t as concerned with covering all the blue as much as having cork to pin to!

Look closely and you’ll spot the letter “G” amongst all the corks… a subtle tribute to the other cork board plan!
Its first job?
Holding my early birthday card from the Choctaw Nation!
Awesome.

Time to start working on the next one!
Cheers!
