    Is that a cactus under the flowers? I’m south of Newcastle and cactus is pretty much all I can grow. Your flowers are very pretty!

      Yes, it’s just a plain ol’ prickly pear. You have that poor of soil? I would recommend hugelkultur… you can search for it on my blog!

        It’s not so much the soil as it is the water, our water is very salty. I catch rain water when I can to water the house plants. Years like this one, dry, outside plants don’t survive past the end of June. But we have had a few rains lately and it’s greening up! YAY!
