Sweet!

Posted on November 2, 2016November 1, 2016

honeycombI had help in my beeyard today!  A friend wanted to learn about top bar hives.  I shifted into “Teacher Mode” and explained everything as best I could.  Not only is this a great honeycomb, but I love that I managed to catch a bee flying straight towards my camera!  See it above the tire?

We harvested just a couple of combs from my Golden Hive and Beebylon, but ignored the mean girls in Messopotamia!  I should go back and pull some of the older dark comb from these two today and dive in to Messopotamia and see if they *have* made a mess this year… but not today!

Today we learned and laughed and our reward was SWEET!

Very sweet! I haven’t done anything with top bar hives, but am intrigued.
