Ten Sleep has a little music festival the second week of August called Nowoodstock. For those who don’t know, Ten Sleep is at the confluence of two creeks, Ten Sleep and the Nowood River. (It’s not really a river on anyone’s scale except Wyoming’s). And it is no-wood, not nor-wood, not now-wood… anyway, our music festival just had to be called Nowood-stock.
I went there instead of Longmire Days… basically to see this relative of mine…
She’s the youngest member of the Prairie Wildfire band. She’s fifteen! All the girls are talented instrumentalists and singers. They play bluegrass and just released their first cd.
I’m happy to support Prairie Wildfire, they’re “local”, from Buffalo, Wyoming… and they’re talented… but they have one song that I call my “theme song”. It’s called Red Dirt In My Soul!
Hmmmm… can’t imagine where the title came from!
Give Prairie Wildfire a listen…

I loved hearing and seeing them. They are really good, and good job on your “Red Dirt in my Soul!”
Do you get residuals? =o)
Haha… nope! But that’s ok!
Great music, great harmonies.
These are admirable young women, with a lot of talent and impressive spirit. That’s wonderful that they’ve formed a band and are out sharing their music.
Wonderful.
ima fan now, which one is your relative?
