I went and reviewed my post from 2010… the Greet Ranch Annual Labor Day Preg Test Retreat … and not that much has changed! We don’t do it on Labor Day, well at least for the past few years, and we’ve spread the work out over days…
Victoria and I were reminiscing about it last night…
Sore feet and backs from standing all day, headaches from smelling the Warbex (the old insecticide pour on), looking for certain blacktagged Angus calves in the corral after sundown while half of us had flashlights and the other half had the lists…
Filthy from the dust of the corral, possibly sore from a cow kick or two, disgust when heifers or calves turned around in the alley and you had to dump them all to turn the one around and load them back up… tempers possibly just a little bit chippy…
But we survived “the good old days”… We now have more help than ever… and they’re a good crew. Finishing by noonish is a treat, even if the entire week has had a good amount of work in it to get us to this point!

and you all do it because you love it! and we appreciate it! Thank You!!
