I’m Here!
Hellloooooo, out there!
Well, we think we have it in hand… My guy, Jason… who shall be known as MYGUYJASON at GoDaddy… has cleared things up… given Red Dirt a firewall and helped immensely with my new look amongst other *I.T.* stuff that I may or may not thoroughly understand!
There’s still a slight hitch in the comment section, but he’s going to keep working on that. If you have a run-in with something weird, odd, non-functional, please let me know, and we will try to fix it. Or I should say, I will call MYGUYJASON and *he* will fix it.
Oh, my.
I’ve been gone FOREVER.
We’ve been busy on the ranch, too… so I don’t know how I can catch you up on everything that has gone on since this blog went down. I will just try and squeeze in those stories when things get a bit slow or boring.
We are getting ready to sell our steers, the video auction is only one week away. Since we sell our yearling steers with the fancy certifications of GAP Level 4/Verified Natural Beef/non-hormone treated cattle, we have to give them a pretty, new eartag. These are electronic ID eartags. The buyer can “read” the tag, and see where they came from and trust that we are selling what we say we are!
The red tool is the tagger, with a new eartag loaded on it. Think VERY BIG PIERCED EARRINGS… You can see the distinctive numbers for identification on the tag. Then there’s the paper copy where I would write down the number of the eartag they already have had since birth. The second paper is Brandon’s list of steers we’ve had to doctor at some point since they were born… for diarrhea as calves, or maybe a sore foot as an older calf. They don’t qualify for this sale. We will just take them to the local sale barn and sell them there. Or we may fatten one up for our own beef!
When we started this morning, it was just Brandon and I… followed soon by Daniel. Then Jaxon and Lacee came to help. Later, Victoria and kids, and Johnny were there! Boy, we had a crew then! I do have to say, I love the confident look Lacee is wearing as she encourages the steers to walk up the alley!
We then had to trail them to a new pasture… and, did I tell you it was 42˚ this morning??? With clouds and wind and scattered showers??? Brrr. First day of summer and we’re riding with jackets and gloves on!
I’m thrilled to be *back* thanks to MYGUYJASON, please let your friends and family know by sharing and commenting on this blog, Facebook, Instagram, and even Twitter! Red Dirt is back and better than ever!
Find me here!
Great to have you back. I had a few problems last week. Wondered if it was an ‘across the pond’ problem. All that water. I’ll press post comment and keep me fingers crossed. Missed your daily blog.
Welcome back!
Hurrah!!! Your back online. My days haven’t been the same without you.
good to see.. but 42 F in the middle of summer??? !!
Yeah, I’m COLD. With a breeze and a cloudy sky you definitely need a jacket. There’s fresh snow in Yellowstone and on the mountains. Of course, in a few days, they have predicted 91. Wyoming is wild!
You’re happy! We’re happy! Glad you are back. 🙂
Yay! Nothing can frustrate like a computer.
