I’d like to, once again, thank everyone for sticking around through my computer/blog difficulties. I do read all your comments, and it was nice to be missed!
Since we spent most of the day attending a little family reunion in Thermopolis with some of Vernon’s cousins, instead of working! maybe I will take this time to go over some of my new features on my blog.
First of all, my header photo. Yes, I will be updating it monthly, just like before, although it is MUCH larger… and I love that. However, if you click away from the home page, for example, you just want to see my Wordless Wednesday photos and you click on that tab… my gorgeous header disappears. MYGUYJASON was going to see if he could change that, but since it hasn’t happened, I’m assuming that it can’t. Oh, well.
For the full experience, I recommend going straight to Red Dirt on a desktop or laptop… mobile usually doesn’t do too much for large photos! But, hey, so long as you’re looking, I’m happy.
Another thing I lost was my “Year Before” links. It *will* show the link to the post I made last year, but not all the links clear back to 2008 when I started. Insert another sad face. I may look for a different plug-in to use, but I’m kind of paranoid about that stuff right now!
I also don’t have a “search” function. I think I will bring that back if I can, as well. I don’t know if you used it, but I did! Sometimes I want to look for more specific posts than my tabs sort… and I’m usually pretty bad at remembering what year things happened… I’m sure I’ll miss that feature.
My Amazon affiliate has its own entire sidebar entry… I’ve rarely asked for support for this blog… but after all the money I’ve thrown at it this month, and MYGUYJASON saying I should… I put an explanation of why on blogs you should use their links to go to your favorite shopping websites. By coming to Red Dirt, clicking on the Amazon link, and doing your shopping, I make money. There’s no cost to you except an extra click. You all have me bookmarked already, right???? I’d sure appreciate it!
Also, all of my older posts won’t have the “featured image” showing either. They will be very plain, just click on the title to read the entire post.
Yes, I have an extra weird block on my Contact Me page… it needs to go away.
If you’d prefer to get these posts in your email, the subscribe button is still there on the sidebar. If you’ve lost me in your inbox, check your spam, or maybe re-subscribe and see if that works.
My Twitter feed is also on here… and 90% of the time, it’s just a photo I posted on Instagram. You’re quite welcome to follow me on either platform! You do miss some cool photos I don’t post here. It’s worth it!
As usual, you have the option to share my posts on your Facebook, Twitter, or Pinterest, email it to your best friend, or print it out to refer to later!

Do you suppose Jason can put “older & newer post” buttons at the bottom of each post? Makes it easier to see all your posts if I miss a day or 2! – without going back to the home button.

Ah Hah! I do see the header on the homepage. I click from the email directly to the current post usually, so that’s why I haven’t been seeing it. I love this photo! That black and white horse is gorgeous.
