School started this week, it’s so hard to believe summer is just about over. I’ve been wanting to build a little table for my dining room for two summers now, so I was determined to do it before winter hits!
I also didn’t want to have to buy any materials for it… although I did buy some polycrylic for it today!
I used some old boards Tess had lying around. I liked them for two reasons… old boards are much more hard and dense than new ones. They were also painted in blue. Perfect contrast to my rust, gold, and maroon curtains.

There are three colors of blue… and they don’t really go together. I do like the looks of them arranged like this. There is some warping of the boards, well, just the crowns are a little more than usual, but I’m still happy with how it turned out.
I hope to work on the legs tomorrow… and the bottom shelf will have a surprise finish… if it works! Stay tuned!

A great table. I like the contrasting blues. Look forward to seeing the shelf. In the UK another week before schools start. This past weekend was the last holiday weekend before Christmas!!!! [ Though schools have a week off end Oct/beginning Nov. ] And most of the country had temps well over 80F!! all weekend.
I like the three blues. It’s like sky and water. I also like the arrangement of the blues. What are the dimensions? Just wondering because you mention a little table.
19″ x 46″? or something close…
Can’t wait. You have a way of turning out beautiful things and it looks to have potential so far.
