I took Quinlan fishing a few weeks ago… first cast, I hang up my lure on a creekside branch. No problem, I came dressed thinking I’d have to rescue Quinlan’s lure… so I wade out…
The high water this spring changed the creek bed a bit, and it was deeper than I remembered. Yank. Yank.
Oh, for heaven’s sake!
YANK!
The lure still doesn’t release and I take a few more steps. Son of a gun… I’ve got water to my waist now… my waist! I glance down at my camera, STRAPPED TO MY WAIST.
Yup, long story short… I lost two lures and my camera on that unsuccessful fishing trip!
Now I’m the proud owner of the newer model Canon SX740hs. (affiliate link) Two steps up from my “old/fishing” Canon. It has a few new features that I’m excited about… (TIME LAPSE!). But, best of all, it still has the great zoom that I need so badly for this “photographic journal of life on a Wyoming ranch”!
It’d sure be cheaper if Canon would sponsor me, though… Quinlan loves to go fishing!
Here’s one of my first videos with the new camera… showing off the zoom!

Wow, that zoom is amazing!
Fabulous!!
Holy crow!!!
