Vernon and the boys helped my brother-in-law set some posts in his corral today. Tess and the kids and I tagged along to visit my sister and play just a tiny bit.
It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but we sure had fun blasting some clay pigeons from the sky!
I have had a new little 20 gauge for a year that I haven’t even shot before! I’ve always had my dad’s 12 gauge, but, boy, that’s a lot of power that I don’t need. The new gun was fun since it’s so much smaller! I pretty much stink at shotguns, though I count myself as a pretty good shot with a rifle.
Tess timed this photo of me just right. You can see the orange target in the sky. I need a lot more practice, but that’s ok…

Good times!
That is fun stuff! I haven’t shot clays for SO many years! I learned to shoot, other than my bb gun, with dad’s old 22, mom bought it used as a christmas present for dad back in the early 40’s, I got to use it when I was about 13, bought my own 22 at 14, loved to hunt rabbits with it, later I bought a single shot 20 gauge so I could start pheasant hunting & shooting clays, traded it for a pump 12 & couldn’t hit a thing with it! Still have my 22 & another single shot 20, but they stay in the closet now- & I still have my hand thrower for clays! Dad’s 22 is now in the hands of my late little brothers grandson-
Hey, not everyone wants to play bingo. Great photos.
