When Quinlan and Lorelei went with me the other day up to our Mesa Pasture… I had to check on a few things, so after admonishing them to stay away from the edge of the the 500′ canyon, I started to put my camera away. Quinlan asked if he could use it… and I handed it over.
I totally forgot about it until the next day, when I downloaded photos.

I didn’t remember taking this photo… or the next 20! Then I finally realized what had happened.
Honestly. I love some of his photos.

A little depth of field practice with this ornery weed that has manifested itself around the stock tanks… and the canyon walls.

Almost dead on application of the rule of thirds… I mean, I couldn’t do any different.

A zoom into the canyon wall… I almost made this one into my weekly puzzle!
But then, oh, man…
There was this one…

Now, the perspective makes it look like she’s right on the edge of the canyon. SHE WAS NOT. She isn’t screaming either… Lorelei is often singing just like her namesake… and I’m sure she’s entertaining herself as I’m over to the side cussing the non-functioning water pump!
Quinlan gets better.

And better.

I found this to be very Andrew Wyeth-esque. I’m pretty sure Quinlan has never heard of Andrew Wyeth or any of the other painters of that period. There’s no ocean out there, but the mountains resemble the blue of the ocean.
I really want to play with some filters, do a smidge of cropping, and see what I can do to these last few photos! I may need to recreate this on my own as well… I do believe Quinlan has inspired me!
Find me here!
Those are beautiful!
What great photos Quinlan. Keep on taking them.
I love his photos of his sister. He did a great job.
Good eye, Quinlan!
Wow!! I am inspired too!
I was thinking that very thought “Wyeth” on the next to last photo but the final one is perfect! He really does have an artistic eye.
That young man has a great eye and I’m sure having a wonderful model helps.
A natural.
Wonderful pictures.
Boy Howdy. Get that boy his own camera!!! Incredible shots.
