The Lodge at Willard Springs

Posted on August 22, 2020August 22, 2020

Last week, we took a special little trip…

While Vernon might make it up here snowmobiling once, twice, three times a winter… I don’t seem to make it very often in summer. Not that I don’t like to visit!

It’s a gorgeous place… perfect for a get away… a reunion… a wedding. Just so long as you’re prepared for a long drive on a gravel/dirt road with good tires and some clearance on your vehicle!

We’re lucky we can “zip” up here for a burger and some ice cream. Zip maybe is NOT the term I should use! This place is REMOTE even if they can see the lights close to Casper at night.

If you’re feeling adventurous, check them out and get directions on their facebook page Enjoy some simple fare. Visit with nice people. Relax from all this craziness where the REAL world surrounds you. Enjoy the silence. Enjoy some ice cream!

*Uh, I can’t give a disclaimer because they *do* know who I am… they did say I could mention them on this blog… but they didn’t pay me to do it! Tell them I sent you anyway!*

We used to lease ground nearby there, and my son and I had the odd experience of being in our camp trailer for that purpose and then hearing the strains of “Ring of Fire” rolling over the prairie from a wedding reception.

I’m sad to say, I never made it down to the lodge.
