Shell Canyon, like I mentioned on the other day’s blog post, has a great deal in common with Ten Sleep Canyon. Massive walls, creek in the bottom, winding, twisting, switchback roads.
Shell Canyon’s Highway 14 is narrower than Ten Sleep’s Highway 16.
More semi’s travel over Ten Sleep… and you’ll understand why when I include some footage in next week’s Re-Red Video.
If height and switchbacks don’t bother you, you’ll witness some rough country and impressive canyon walls.
The smoke was still laying thick, so the skies aren’t very clear.
Partway up the hill, you’ll see the Shell Falls Interpretive Center.
Although the websites say this is open, obviously it’s not. That doesn’t matter, the paved paths are still there.
People come to see the falls, though.
And to take their (anniversary) photo!
Find me here!
Happy Anniversary glad you could spend it together
Happy Anniversary to you both. Lovely photo. We had our 50th in lockdown, so just the two of us. I got out old photos for family to see and we enjoyed the special cake ordered before lockdown with our coffee each day. I think we got through it in about 4 weeks!!!!
Happy Anniversary to you! Happy ever-aftering.
Happy Anniversary! Looks like a very photogenic spot in many ways.
When I was in college, several of my classmates spent summers with the Bighorn IR crew out of — Shell, WY. Soft spot in my heart. I didn’t realize it was such a small place (the town that is).
Beautiful scenery though.
And Happy Anniversary to you and Vernon!
Happy Anniversary!
Impressive geology to those falls. I haven’t seen anything like it in the west.
Happy Anniversary! Great place for a photo. I wanted to go to Shell falls this summer but we didn’t make it.
Happy Anniversary!!
Happy Anniversary! Beautiful couple, lovely backdrop.
Happy Anniversary! Perfect spot to reflect.
