Honestly, I didn’t take enough photos for a typical Re-Red video this week! Neverfear… after all the cow work we did, I decided to make just a video on cow sorting. Sounds simply enthralling, right?
Now, cow sorting is often when, if stories are to be believed, tempers run short and people end up yelling at each other. There are always ag jokes about husbands and wives and sorting cattle. We’re not like that.
We don’t tend to get riled up. We apologize for our mistakes (like if we step in front of a cow when we shouldn’t). I really believe we all work well together. There are days when it seems you’re always in the wrong place… we all have them… but recognizing you’ve made a boo boo and accepting and acknowledging it, is how we roll.
It took me a while to figure all this out… not growing up around cattle, it takes a while to figure out flight zones, behavior, procedure, and technique. The boys have done this all their lives… and so have our cows!
Loved everything! For me, it’s just plain “riding” along with the pace of Panama, and the creaking of the leather saddle that’s the best!
Question: do cows have any ‘pecking order’ in their herd?? any ‘leader’ of sorts? Thanks.
another very good video, but as always, I’m curious about the old building, looks like it still has a sod roof, but looks like an electric line going to it, still in use?
