#TBT: Mountain Cowboy 2010 Video

Posted on January 7, 2021January 7, 2021

For Throwback Thursday, I usually just pick a post from the file… but I’ve kind of had a plan… I’ve worked through 2008 and 2009. So, when I looked back for a post from January of 2010, I knew there wouldn’t be a post. In the beginning of 2010, my mother was dying from cancer. I did not blog. There were no posts. So for the next month or so, my Throwback Thursdays have to be something else. I decided to choose one of my earliest videos to share.

It’s interesting for me to look back, see our younger selves, see my sweet dogs, see what’s changed… and see how maybe I’ve learned a bit about making videos!

Although this video is from 2010, it’s September, not January! It’s a favorite, though, and peaceful, and easygoing, and maybe some of you can be transported to a morning in the mountains, playing cowboy, enjoying the work and the scenery.

Did a lot of reminicing watching that video. The summer of 1957 or 58 was visiting Dad for awhile. Cattle were to be trailed up the mountain, so Roy, Chuck, Joy and I (having never risen before) did our job. Spent the night with Aunt Ohma, such a sweet lady. Big Trails has a hunk of my heart.

This was wonderful. I was certainly there in spirit if not in person.

As I enjoyed this, I thought my ES, Sandy, was asleep in another room.
Well, as soon as the dogs barked and your said, “Good girls” she came
running to see what’s going on! And when I watch a nature show, she
is glued to the set! I never tire of just plain watching my dog!

thanks for the round up ride- your dogs do a good job keeping those cows in line- I see a few more red cows back then, I”ll be a red cow guy till I make that last roundup-that’s what dad had so many years ago,
