Not Hers

Posted on July 6, 2021July 6, 2021

Once the heifers were corralled, we immediately started working them.

While Brandon and Megan went to pulling blood into the vacuum tubes,

I planted myself at the back, sorting the heifers up the alley. I didn’t manage to take any photos back there, preferring to keep my eyes open for the ornery, kicking heifers.

Each tube with blood is carefully labeled by C.

T. helped push the girls up the alley.,

While Brandon’s hands were even more covered in cow poo and cow blood, I took this pic of Megan’s hand. If you’re not willing to get dirty, or covered in some bodily fluid not hers, of course, maybe the ranch life isn’t for you! Just remember, you’re washable!

What you’re saying is that not all the blood goes into the vacuum tubes. Not a job for the squeamish!

I’m guessing that would eliminate a large percentage of the population from working on a ranch.

I did wonder whose blood that was. And as you say, we are washable. Hope all the testing goes well.
