Skylined

Posted on July 20, 2021July 20, 2021

We gathered the Slope Pasture today, again starting early to beat the heat. Ninety pairs were scattered in sagebrush and juniper in probably the rockiest pasture! It has the steepest slope topped with a patch of fir trees at the top. As we split up to cover the area, Victoria was skylined with the small bunch she was following.

Cows were paired, counted, trailed to their new pasture, and the remaining bunch were treated to the same process when we returned.

It’s easy enough duty, but it does take time. They seemed happy to be in their new pastures… and that’s what we were shooting for!
