This video covers March 3 – March 20, 2022. Calving season is in full swing on the ranch. Each calf will get an eartag, and an ear mark (which is a square underbite) and will be banded if it is a bull calf. All of which D does at the beginning of this movie. The days can be warm and sunny or cold and snowy. I see a few elk on my commute. A cow that has lost her calf is loaded in the horse trailer. Turkeys and a pheasant enjoy the feed as well as the cows. In the first video, a turkey has a piece of cake in its beak and is being chased by another but drops the cake in the snow. A pheasant appreciates the hay feeder and you get a bit of a view of how many turkeys we help through the winter. I love a baby calf walk… and some winter scenery ends this installment.

Another wonderful video. I always enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee. Very relaxing, at least for me as I watch.
Thumbs up for another nice video – loved all the subjects and views but especially seeing a close-up of the pheasant!!! It’s just about my favorite bird! 🙂
How, exactly, does a turkey score a piece of *cake* in the Wyoming wilderness?!
Always enjoy your videos. And stills. And descriptions of all you share with us.
Cake is what we call the compressed cubes we use as supplemental feed to the cows. Cake can be made of various things… this year we bought distiller’s grain… and I did write about that in a post called “Side Dish”.
