So it begins.
AI.
I spent the day, yes, a full 12 hours, in Worland with Brandon today. It was the first day of Artificial Insemination with our heifers. True to standard operating procedure, we showed up early to see what was going on. Nothing. Nothing was going on. Throughout the day, we alternated between running errands and looking through the heifers in the corral.
To do AI, the heifer must be in standing heat. That’s the true indication she is ready to be bred. I don’t know how much you’d like to know about AI. I’ve written about it in the past, but not in much detail lately.
We didn’t breed any of them, but by the end of the day, we had a list of the ones they will breed first thing tomorrow! It was a pretty low key day. Tomorrow won’t be.

Maybe I’ll go back and read more about AI. It’s all very interesting.
