Tonight the library was to show the movie, Secondhand Lions, just to give the people of Ten Sleep something to do… watch a Great Movie, eat some popcorn and drink some hot chocolate (it’s beginning to snow again), and enjoy each other’s company. Well. It didn’t work out, and me (the projectionist) was the only one to show up.
That’s ok. I locked up, took the movie home, and told Vernon we’d watch it. He made it the first five minutes, so I re-re-re-re watched it alone.
I find few movies worth watching, much less rewatching, but this one is a Good One. Borrow the DVD from your library and watch it.
There’s some mighty fine quotes in this movie, but my favorite is this:
“Sometimes the things that may or may not be true are the things a man needs to believe in the most. That people are basically good; that honor, courage, and virtue mean everything; that power and money, money and power mean nothing; that good always triumphs over evil, and I want you to remember this, that love—- true love never dies. You remember that, boy. You remember that. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not. You see, a man should believe in those things because those are the things worth believing in.”
Yup. It’s a good one.

Had to Google this film. Certainly one to watch. Such wise words.
Have to watch that movie; that quote is wonderful. Wonder if my hubby has it in his collection.
Uh oh! watching the movie alone? I bet you really had little Indy in your
lap!
The Ten Sleep library sure offers some great activities! I guess the weather kept people from wanting to venture out. That is a great quote.
