The weather has been almost perfect and I’ve been hitting the yard chores fairly hard. Of course, today was a Reagan day, so I chose something relatively fun… cleaning out the cement pond from winter’s smelly layer of rotten leaves and dirt. (More for curious minds here).
Scooping out what Jaxon has dubbed the “Mariana Trench” was the worst, but adding fresh water while we scooped out the old seemed to keep the smell in check! The layers of Flex Seal are peeling off but I imagine it will hold water good enough.
My job appears to be over as Reagan continues to scoop random leaves from the clear water.
By the time we were ready for my one lone (huge) goldfish left from the original 9 I had two years ago, the rest of the kids were home from school. Even ganging up on it, the goldfish eluded us since we stirred up so much moss and mud. A bigger net would help! I may have to borrow one!
Find me here!
So the goldfish stayed in there for the winter? Or was he somewhere else? Do you have trouble with critters (here it’s probably raccoons)? Why were you trying to catch him?
Hurray for spring, and for scooping leaves in your cowgirl boots!
