Outdoor Experience

Posted on September 12, 2023September 12, 2023

Well, I had told myself I would do something *outside* today. This was not what I had in mind.

Brandon and Megan were going to Worland to buy straw for our calving shed and I would hitch a ride if they would stop at the grocery store’s case lot sale.

With four of us working, it didn’t take too long to load us up.

This is barley straw and it’s not very heavy, not like a solid bale of alfalfa!

Stacking them in alternate layers helps to hold them in place.

Thankfully the bed of the pickup was available for all my case lot purchases!

If you’d like to test the smoothness of your local highway… just do this… put a load behind your pickup and drive along… You’ll find out quickly that sections of your highway are in pretty poor condition! This concludes my outdoor experience for the day…

Yes, nice looking straw…and lighter in weight for stacking. Cows and humans are happy!

Nice looking straw! And looks like you’re getting stocked for winter….
