In Good Time

Posted on March 11, 2024

The first move of our Sandhills Method was today. If you remember from last year, we’ve begun following this Nebraska born idea. With the heifers almost all calved out, our cows are starting their turn calving. The cows have been in a large field… and those that have calved are left behind with their babies… while we move the rest to a new pasture.

It’s maybe two miles, tops, if they were at the back of the field. Plus they know where to go! Once headed in the proper direction, they stepped out and traveled right along. Our cows are very nice and easy to handle. Usually!

With some well placed outriders, we were there in good time.
