Throwback Thursday: Getting Closer, v.2.0

Posted on March 14, 2024

This was first posted March 13, 2014. I need a project like this again…

Well, it was back to the Good Ol’ Art Studio Project the other day…  I worked a bit with some chinking… some cleaning… some organization… but best of all…

I managed to get some insulation up!

studio

Just about ready for some ceiling osb now…

The tallest side still needs to be insulated, but I may hire some help!

I’m not showing the piles of craft material stacked on the other side, just because I love this clean little part of my studio!  Oh, how I long to turn into Tasha Tudor or Beatrix Potter or Jan Brett, and paint and create stories of nature and children!  It’s getting closer…

Thank you, Pat. A tribute is much preferred to a tiara, especially when the tribute embraces the heritage of the area so well.

Following your blog for a long time, I remember the progress and all
the work it has taken to transform this space into a true studio!
Would like to know more about your chinking?? Thanks.

I left the mud chinking that was in good shape. I used cement mortar for the rest. Spraying the wood to make it wet, gathering little willow sticks for a lower “ lip “, and using a trowel to pack and spread it.

The skull is painted. Zoom in. It’s really neat

‘Scuse me, is that a tiara on the skull next to the stove pipe? No need to explain, of course, just wondering if that’s really what my old eyes are seeing.

      No tiara, just paint!
