Spring Storm

Posted on April 6, 2024

Rain overnight quickly kicked us up to .23” of moisture, then it switched to snow and started laying it down!

This was taken midday… those are big flakes coming down!
I crafted and cleaned and sat in front of the fire and watched my favorite YouTubers. Vernon kept an eye on the calving. Luckily, we are on the downhill slide and not many were born.
Heading to my chicken coop, I tried to shovel the snow off my sidewalk. It was like shoveling hard water. It was sooooo heavy. Great snowman making snow, but still too unpleasant to enjoy being out in it. Great clumps are either sliding off my metal roof with a thud or falling out of the trees with thuds! Some people lost power, where ours just flickered multiple times but always came back on. I took measurements and confirmed 12” of snow by dark, with it still coming down!

Happy Spring Snowstorm!

It does look pretty- unless you’re out in it. Such BIG snow flakes.

Would it help if I sent photos of Virginia Bluebells that are blooming right now?
