Focusing on Lorelei

Posted on July 6, 2024

As usual, I did take a zillion photos of the rodeo on the Fourth. I, however, had a great deal more fun watching Lorelei riding old Gabe. Gabe is an old hand at this…

Lorelei must present the colors, and as Princess, that means the Wyoming flag.

She also must help carry the sponsor’s flags around the arena in between events. While Gabe was good with his easy going Western Pleasure style lope, Lorelei tried and tried to ask for that “Rodeo Queen Gallop”. Gabe was having none of it. By the end of the second day, his circles in the arena were half the size he started with.

But there’s more to being a princess… there’s friendship…

and advice…

and learning from others…

But, overall… just have fun!
