Turkeys

Posted on November 17, 2024

Until a few years ago, there were no wild turkeys in this area. Now, it’d be nice if we could sell pasture raised turkeys for a side hustle!

Yes, those are all turkeys… and I couldn’t fit more into my frame, but there were more!

Where did they all come from? Are they domestic escapees? It doesn’t seem like they would be smart enough to survive in the wild. Are they reintroduced wild turkeys?

The Game and Fish introduced them a few years ago. They have flourished. They often can have two clutches in a year.

Turkeys are taking over the state. It’s just crazy. Casper has a large urban turkey population.
