Well, the Ten Sleep Library has some exciting news. We were named one of five 2025 IMLS National Medal winners. The Institute of Museum and Library Service recognizes five museums and five libraries every year as making “significant and exceptional contributions to their communities.”
Pretty cool, huh?
We were nominated by U.S. Representative Harriet Hageman and then went through a “competitive and multi-stage process.” We appreciate the letters of support written by community members to help us achieve this award.
What does it mean? Well, national recognition is a Big Deal… and, in the past, it has meant money for the library and a trip to DC to receive a big certificate. We haven’t heard specifically what this year will bring, so we are anxiously waiting.
If you’d like to read the full announcement and see if any museum or library in your state has won, you can read it all here. It’s amazing to read about the other libraries and past winners as well. It’s hard to compare us to huge libraries but the point is that even though we’re tiny, we try our best to serve our community. Big kudos to my boss and co-workers for achieving this award!

Way to go! Congrats!
Congratulations!
A big, big congratulations to a great library!!
