Attempt

Posted on March 14, 2017March 13, 2017

Vernon and I took a late evening attempt at the mountain.  Sure enough, we couldn’t get very far.  It’s a balm to my soul to see this view, though, so it still made me smile! I spent the day crafting away, listening to a book on tape… cleaning when I needed to get up and…

Ready (Finally)

Posted on March 13, 2017March 12, 2017

Cool Doe

Posted on March 11, 2017March 11, 2017

I thought I’d share this photo I took… It’s of a young mule deer doe, out of last year’s crop of fawns. Now, she’s not an albino – that’s obvious – but she’s definitely much lighter than her herdmates.  A lighter phase of mule deer! Cool.

Questions and Answers March 2017 Edition

Posted on March 8, 2017March 7, 2017

JoAmy: How did you meet your husband? Well, strangely enough, I’ve been asked this question enough that I actually wrote a blog post about it HERE.  It’s all about coincidences… Joan: Do the new calves and their moms stay in a barn for a while or do they just hunker down and keep each other…

Antelope Under the Ant Hill

Posted on March 6, 2017March 5, 2017

Holy Hurricane, Batman!  The wind BLEW today!  I sheltered in place… cleaning, crafting, reading, and staying out of the wind.  It’s been a long time since I lived in Casper… Totally forgot about my Q&A for this month… so, that means you have one more chance to ask a question… post them in the comment…

Dirt and Mess

Posted on March 5, 2017March 4, 2017

Victoria’s visit was short and she left after lunch… The boys’ morning was spent digging in a dirt pile with cousins.  I tried to teach some finer points of rammed earth castle building, but I’m not sure if it sank in or not! The past two days have been warm, although today’s wind put a…

Boys

Posted on March 4, 2017March 3, 2017

Victoria and her three boys finally managed to make it over the mountain for a visit… She’s tried since Christmas but there were always bad roads between there and here… She’s thrilled to be home! I took her boys walkabout this morning, leaving her to work on a paper she’s writing.  An hour or so…
