Sweetie

Posted on September 17, 2013

Morning found us headed up the mountain to wean calves. The guys had left their horses up yesterday… I was afoot. We headed them all towards the corral… c’mon, girls! Before we knew it, the trucks arrived… and we hustled to sort the calves off from their mommas. We were home by noon, and then…

Two Down

Posted on September 16, 2013

While the guys traveled to the mountain to gather the main pasture in preparation for tomorrow’s weaning of our calves, my sister and I spent ALL DAY out in my studio. We hoped to get in three windows.  We managed two.  Well, one and a half. Nevertheless, it’s great! Here’s the cabinet setup from yesterday……

New Vision

Posted on September 15, 2013

I stare at my studio. I think if I had just worked the same amount of time that I have stood and STARED at that place, I might be done by now! I try to picture it, though…  how this cabinet will look here, why I don’t want the stove in the middle of the…

Tomorrow?

Posted on September 14, 2013

I found a plug-in for Photoshop called Wireworm… and if I was smart enough to install it correctly… I could have made this photo much nicer without the power lines!  However, I’ve fallen asleep once and my brain just won’t figure out what I need to do to make it work… Enjoy the powerlines! I…

Adventure List

Posted on September 10, 2013

I worked yesterday at the library, preparing a slideshow to be the background for a presentation my boss and I were giving for the Worland After 5 Club.  We talked to 53 women about the incredible opportunities the Wyoming Library System offers patrons. Luckily, my speech was on the digital opportunities the library provides, which,…

Blues

Posted on September 8, 2013

Panama and Rio are on level ground, it’s just Fossil Butte and other hills are angled! It rained this afternoon, not much, but between today and yesterday, it’s the most rain we’ve had in quite a while.  Everyone’s talking about how this winter is supposed to be really tough, according to local weathermen and the…

Cowboys on the Horizon

Posted on September 7, 2013

Pregnancy testing… The way to find out if a cow gets to stay or hit the road. We actually ended up just after lunch!  Two o’clock or so… which is AMAZING for us!  We’re so used to trying to do ALL of them at once, but splitting the herd in half, while it causes more…

Clouds Dancing

Posted on September 6, 2013

Well, it could have been worse! I haven’t ever gathered this leased pasture before… I’m not sure what I was doing when we were in it last year… all I knew was that the cows needed to go UP. UP is a hard direction to get cows to go! About an hour and a half…
