Day Plus

Posted on May 4, 2019May 4, 2019

I work outside… in my house… then I have to sit down and work on the table for a bit! This thing is irresistible! I’m seeing if I like the rather translucent paint versus just a solid coating. So far I’m happy with it, though I will add more shading and depth to the objects…

Day Somethingorother

Posted on April 30, 2019April 30, 2019

I have still been working on my woodburned table… but keeping track of how many days I’ve worked on it has gone by the wayside. I decided to add a quote around the edges as well… “You can’t go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”…

Day Three

Posted on April 16, 2019April 16, 2019

Well, of course there are other things I’ve done today… like defrosting my freezer, reorganizing, and repacking it with beef… and standard household chores… but I did get to spend some time on the table! The quote is from Plato… “Books give a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination,…

Day One

Posted on April 13, 2019April 13, 2019

Design day one… It’s difficult to see, but I’ve sketched out some simple designs… each section has a book in it… after all, this table will return to the library. And then I start…

Adding to the collection… A couple of country scenes and the Green Man… A far out fox, some welcoming birds, and a silly llama!

Finger Crochet

Posted on February 11, 2019February 11, 2019

I was thinking about teaching the After the Bell kids who I work with about crocheting. Then I thought, well, let’s see if there’s an easier way to teach crochet to young kids that don’t have great hand-eye coordination. So… somewhere along the line, I found finger crochet. Basically, instead of using a crochet hook,…

Some Bunny

Posted on February 9, 2019February 9, 2019

While the guys trudge out every morning to feed their different bunches of cattle, I sit in my house, hands warmed by my first cup of coffee. At single digit temperatures, I’m happy to take my time waking up to meet the crisp morning. I’m sure it would be better for me to go find…

Last One Started

Posted on February 3, 2019February 3, 2019

As I recover from the latest bout of grandchildren based germ warfare… and they win every time, by the way… I started on Reagan’s Christmas stocking. Yes, I’m late… don’t tell her! Oh, it needs sparkle… and… more… but hey, the last grandchild now can catch up to the other seven!

#TBT – Indian Dress

Posted on January 25, 2019January 25, 2019

So many of you liked my cradleboard I made, I thought I’d share my Indian dress I also made back in the day. It now hangs on the wall in my Indian room. A neighbor helped me with the design and beadwork. It is actually two pieces so I could wear the top with jeans…

Library Donations

Posted on December 10, 2018

I’ve been working on what I’m donating to our library silent auction. This doesn’t really show up well, It’s just a pine tree shape cut from a green hardback book.  It does look cute on my counter though! I covered this box with wrapping paper and filled it with items to make a Christmas Eve…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
