Crafty Day

Posted on September 5, 2018

We had all the cousins together… minus Reagan who was napping… and it was time to try my Eco Dyeing! Sent to find leaves to use, it was mass chaos for a bit! Then we laid them on our cotton tshirts. Next we wrapped them tightly for the kids… Then we boiled them an hour…

I Can Share!

Posted on August 28, 2018

I did this little gem of a “spoon” for a gift.  Since it’s been given and received, I can now share with you. I’m pretty happy with the results, although it was traumatic making it.  In wood burning there’s really no erasing.  Oh, sure, you can sand some light burns away, but that’s not very…

Go Create!

Posted on August 8, 2018

One of the places that sells my wood burned spoons also sells the most wonderful journals.  I’m always a sucker for blank journals… the potential!  I should go take a picture of them… honestly, I’d buy many!  What this lady does is take old books… cut off the spine, and use the covers for the…

Queen

Posted on August 1, 2018

The Wyoming Library Conference is coming up… and Washakie County is donating a basket for their fundraiser.  This year’s theme is “Bee Happy”. (Photo not my own) My tiny contribution is… of course, a wooden spoon.

Wood Burning

Posted on June 17, 2018

I was asked how I did my wood burned spoons… It’s pretty straightforward. First comes the design.  I wander around the internet, finding t-shirt slogans or signs or anything that happens to jump out at me.  I try to find subjects that might apply to my customers… western patterns like my tooled leather look, outdoor/camping…

Rain

Posted on May 29, 2018

Wyoming has been blessed with rain.  Too much in a few places!  We received .75”.  I know, the fact that Wyomingites count the rain in hundredths of an inch, should tell you something… but it is amazing what 3/4” of rain can do to this country! The rainstorm did hold off for longer than it…

Spoon Break

Posted on May 6, 2018May 5, 2018

While I spent most of my day outside working in my garden and yard… sometimes I need a break.  The dentist ended up pulling my troublesome tooth… and it aches!  I should come in and clean on my house… more than likely, I sit down and work on a spoon or two, and leave the…

Carol, Wyoming rancher

Since 2008, I’ve kept this photographic journal of life on our working Wyoming ranch.  I share ranch work, my family, crafts and DIY, my English Shepherds, Bravo and Indy, and a love for this land.  Enjoy this red dirt country!
