Not Bad

Posted on July 5, 2022July 5, 2022

Small town parade… Lacee was Washakie County Fair Junior Princess and I videoed her and only caught a quick pic after she’d ridden by… Johnny attended… The one good thing about an election year is the amount of candy thrown during the parade… Little kids on fancy cars… Little kids throwing candy… Not a bad…

Our ”Ussie”

Posted on July 2, 2022July 2, 2022

Two days of riding and moving and bleeding and gathering and shipping and trailing… and today we ALL rode, even little Reagan. We trailed our yearling heifers a few miles downhill… and she rode like a champ. When we were finished, she hitched a ride back with her grandpa in the side by side as…

Down Pat

Posted on July 1, 2022July 1, 2022

Sunrise found us horseback, gathering heifers to bring them home. They crossed the creek on the second attempt, and soon we were up the hill, through the gate, and on the highway, walking the three miles home. Three cowkids were along to help. Having them mounted on horses instead of ornery ponies has made a…

#TBT: ”Stay Tuned”, v.2.0

Posted on June 30, 2022June 30, 2022

This was first published June 30, 2011. Now THAT was interesting! Eight of you were kind enough to take part in my little informal survey… and then I was stuck trying to figure out how to carry on this discussion/question/answer/survey thing.  I hope you find this interesting and not a lecture and/or too boring.  Randy…

Not Much

Posted on June 28, 2022June 28, 2022

Not much on my agenda though the guys are hard at work haying. A trip to Worland today for a dentist appointment and groceries… I now have less money but I gained a crown… Photo just because…

Slow Down

Posted on June 27, 2022June 27, 2022

Even though there is some yucca blooming, these white flowers are miner’s candlesticks, not yucca. I always slow going through the Slope Pasture bottom gate, as it’s home to Indian Blanket flower… Then there’s the elusive Prince’s Plume… Megan has seen it, but I’ve missed it… so I am using her photo of it to…

Good Job, Team

Posted on June 25, 2022June 25, 2022

A cool morning and cloud cover made for an easy start as we trailed 100 pair to the Slope Pasture. Five adults and four kids left the barn and we opened the gate to the corral where the cows we’d gathered yesterday had spent the night. And we’re off! The clouds gave a blue tint…

In Good Time!

Posted on June 24, 2022June 24, 2022

I love it when I complete a project in good time! My first version of a wool saddle pad took me over a year to make, neglected, however, over the summer months. This one took me right at a month! Daniel’s birthday present/just because present is done. I gave it to him asap because we…

#TBT: You’ll Be Fine, v.2.0

Posted on June 23, 2022June 23, 2022
