The Beat Goes On…

Posted on April 9, 2022April 9, 2022

The nice weather the past few days have led me to outdoor work… clearing my garden of last year’s detritus (yesterday) and cleaning and reorganizing my root cellar (today). I’d definitely crawl into my hot tub, but at 39* and 6 mph breeze… it’s a bit chilly. I pushed myself to accomplish these much needed…

#TBT: Stockdog History, v.2.0

Posted on April 7, 2022April 7, 2022

This was first posted April 9, 2011. Since it decided to rain today (starting off with a skiff of snow), Vernon did tractor work which left me to work on my house again. I’m getting my closets figured out and reorganized… pulling out a shelf here, adding it there, and moving the rods around.  Repainting….

Eggs

Posted on April 5, 2022April 5, 2022

I don’t know a great deal, but I do know that Avian Influenza has now been found in Wyoming. I need to do more research, but basically, it can cause illness and death in wild and domestic birds. Well. That’s not good. I rely quite a bit on my hens. If they end up catching…

Good Boy

Posted on April 4, 2022April 4, 2022

With semi-nice weather, Vernon was hoping to not have any sick calves. When he came home to get a bottle of milk replacer, I asked to help, and Bravo and I rode along in the pickup. Taking a dog along to new calves is usually not recommended, but I planned to leave Bravo in the…

Ranch Snippets Video

Posted on April 3, 2022April 3, 2022

Sorry about last night… I had company and we stayed up LATE and visited… I finally made another video. I honestly haven’t taken that many photos except for Megan’s Sunflower Table and my class at the Ten Sleep Library… but the camera seems to be coming out of hibernation… so perhaps more videos will be…

As The Years Go By

Posted on April 1, 2022April 1, 2022

When any grandkids go along on an ”adventure” with me, we usually find a treasure. A cool rock. A feather. A weird stick. An antler. But when Vernon’s driving, we go zoom. From one place to another. I’m more of a wanderer since it’s easier to spot treasures that way. Riding in the side by…

#TBT: Highway 2.0 Views, part 1 and 2, v.2.0

Posted on March 31, 2022March 31, 2022

These were first published in March and April of 2011. Tonight you get a two for one! The thing I enjoy the most while traveling, is just to see how other people live. Now, granted… central Nebraska is not that far removed from central Wyoming…   but I still noticed a few things.   Like…

Sunday Drive

Posted on March 29, 2022March 29, 2022

Spring fever has hit. Dry roads. Warm weather. Tinges of green. After Vernon finished his feeding duties and we’d grabbed lunch, we were in the side by side for a Grand Tour. We didn’t make it far. The mountain road is still slushy and drifted with snow, though the warmth of the sun was working…

Spring Jobs

Posted on March 28, 2022March 28, 2022

I awoke to a cloudy morning… and a plan. I’ve neglected my pantry for a while and had decided to reorganize it. Since it doubles as a store room, it wasn’t going to be easy. That room has been a mess since Christmas, as I was determined to haul the majority of my Christmas decorations…
