Christmas Cookie Fail

Posted on December 9, 2018

Getting ready for the library’s open house by making Christmas treats. I’ve never put these together… pretzel, peppermint kisses topped by a peppermint M&M.  Simple, right?  I shoved them in the oven, waiting for the kiss to melt down.  It didn’t.  By the time I went, seriously?  It shouldn’t take so long!  The chocolate kiss…

#TBT : Marmalade

Posted on December 7, 2018

Among the items Johnny gave me was this. This one pound marmalade jar could be dated anywhere between 1880-1920.  As far as I could tell in an hour of research, was that these were very common, and often saved to be reused after the marmalade was long gone! Johnny’s story was that one time, as…

So Long, Girls

Posted on December 5, 2018

Daniel pitched some hay for the heifers, and we jumped on four wheelers to bring them in from the surrounding fields.  These heifers will go the sale barn and hopefully find good homes somewhere else as replacements.  They didn’t make the cut here, but maybe they’ll work on another place. I always feel bad for…

Treasures

Posted on December 4, 2018

Johnny and I met up to go through some things in his basement… and he gave me some treasures! I was very excited to receive these two plates… After minimal internet search, I found them to be Fred Roberts grill plates from the 1940’s or 1950’s.  I initially thought them to be children’s plates, but…

New Ride

Posted on December 3, 2018

When Vernon starts checking out new vehicles… I just stand back because I know one is coming! The blue Grand Cherokee is sold… the new silver Cherokee Trailhawk is here!  It’s smaller and fancier, and a little aggressive.  I keep thinking I need a NX-01 window cling for it for some reason… Don’t worry, my…

She’s So Pretty

Posted on December 1, 2018November 30, 2018

Look what arrived today!  My new “toy”! The one and only photo I have on it so far, is my favorite photo of Lucas that I had to set as my desktop background.  It seems to be much faster than my old one… and I will have to go get some pics tomorrow to start…

#TBT: Repost : A Good Day

Posted on November 30, 2018November 30, 2018

I was scrolling through some old posts of mine… this one is from November 30, 2009!  I enjoyed it, thought you might as well… The crisp morning crept slowly out of the darkness.  Sparkling glitter cast by Jack Frost caught the tepid rays of the early morning sun except for the creekbottom.  It would be…

Posted on November 28, 2018November 27, 2018

We made a flying trip to have our Jeep worked on… nothing spectacular about our day. However, since this post will arrive on the 28th… I will share Reagan’s birthday pics since it will be her birthday!  Happy first birthday to my youngest grandchild… you are quite the blessing with your happy spirit and joyful…

I spent all day decorating the library… and I didn’t even come close to finishing!  The new addition and new decorations all left me with no plan… just a faint vision of snowflakes and icicles. I will take pics when I finish… for now I will just share this…
