Awards and Sponsorships

Early morning on the mountain on my long legged horse… Saddling at 5:30 was the plan, but saddling 8 kids’ horses is rather a chore and then tossing on our five saddles… the guys still ended up driving up the mountain with the sunrise glaring in their eyes. Not often do we have all the…

Pieces, Part Two

Posted on August 26, 2022

To continue my story from the other day… The frame was unloaded, trundled over to the rest of the disc mower, and the brackets and tires bolted on. There was more shifting, wiggling, pushing. The frame needed to come back another 1.5”. The skidsteer couldn’t move more… so a comealong and chain were strapped on….

#TBT: I’m Lichen It, v.2.0

Posted on August 25, 2022

This was first posted August 28, 2011. I’m needing to finish up some details on my projects so I can count them as completed. The last thing needed in my bathroom is the decorative “chair rail” that I originally hoped to cover in fossils.  Alas and alack! my fossil stash is too poor to use…

Pieces

Posted on August 23, 2022

Pieces lay scattered through the grass: a pin, a chain, a crowbar, a tire. We pulled up in the pickup, and, as usual, I was instantly amazed. What lay before me in the field appeared to be a mechanical troll’s irritated vengeance. A piece here. Another there. Chaos. I remembered the phone call. “Is the…

Lectric Bike First Impressions

Posted on August 20, 2022

Well, I took my new electric bike out for a spin. I thought I’d just run it around by my house… and I did… but there are plenty of ruts and rocks… so I headed out to the highway. I hadn’t grabbed a helmet since I was staying right here, but I did have the…

That Time of Year

Posted on August 19, 2022

It’s Longmire Days! I blasted over to Buffalo, Wyoming with a friend. She was picking up a mini red heeler puppy and we had a couple hours to wander around. First came the craft fair… Then a trip to Bucking Buffalo Supply Co./Longmire Headquarters. I made a quick trip in to the Jim Gatchell Museum…

#TBT: Expanding Family Portrait, v.2.0

Posted on August 18, 2022

This was first posted August 19, 2011. The other day, when Brandon finished his metal Centennial sign, we decided to take some photos.  Vernon’s sister and her husband were here from California… and it seemed the perfect time to snap some family photos. The difficulty lay in the long legs of the sign… Where were…
