Today I worked a smidge on a Minute Movie from the other day… I managed to catch a lightning strike out towards the badlands on film… and oddly enough, the guys spotted a fire out that way this afternoon. I’m sure it’s not the same one, but I thought it would be a good tie-in.
You know, plot development, foreshadowing… STORYTELLING.
The guys have been out fighting the fire… a couple hundred acres to the southwest of us… and Tess and I and Jaxon have preoccupied ourselves waiting…
Look who had spaghetti for supper!
Anyway, we kind of ignored the next thunderstorm rolling in… Lightning was flashing and we both rolled our eyes, knowing that it meant our guys would probably be out in it, first responding before the First Responders…
But Tess headed home, and I began to watch. Lightning storms are *fascinating*… barring the fire potential and, well, death potential…
Time to break out the camera.
Try as I could, I couldn’t catch a strike for nuthin’.
Lots of cloud glow… ok, a tiny little strike…
But nothing, NOTHING, like this. In desperation, I ran for another camera…
Neh.
I pretty much FAILED at this gorgeous storm…
But I did catch my sons… volunteer firefighters… refilling the tank on the fire truck with quite the light show behind them…
With luck, I’ll have a MUCH BETTER Minute Movie ready for you tomorrow!
I’m remembering a picture of your two sons a couple of years ago with
“that face” minus the spaghetti. Jaxon’s got that look!!
What an adorable spaghetti face! Those pictures are pretty cool, despite the lack of lighting.
