I spent most of my day either cleaning and picking up my house or sneaking out to work in my studio.
I only have the boards above the big window to install!
I also bought a truckload of good plastic tubs to keep my crafts in, hopefully they’ll be much more mouse-proof than my cardboard boxes. I’ll get to start sorting through all that pretty quick as I’ve hauled a bunch out there, and now it needs to be put away so I can stand on my wooden boxes to put up my insulation and ceiling panels. Thought needs to be given to what can go out there and what shouldn’t… fabric needs to stay inside with my sewing machine. Liquid paint can’t go out there, it’ll freeze. The same with my dyes for my pysanky…
But I so easily get ahead of myself…
That wall needs finished and the multitude of shelves I envision should be started… and no one knows still how to finish off the window and door trim! Plus a big wooden storage unit is coming soon, one of my last items still left in Daniel’s house!
Step by step…
which is what these whitetail does seem to be saying as they crossed the Nowood the other day. I love that the lead doe’s reflection is visible in the water overrunning the ice. Quite the scenic deer crossing!

This is a gorgeous photo.
Another beautiful winter picture! I loved thinking about the deer moving gently onto the ice and if they ‘wondered’ if it would hold them! And the reflection of the first doe gets my vote for this picture to be in next year’s calendar!!!
Would old weathered barn siding work for window trim?
Probably. I’m looking for three 1×6 (actual size for interior of window) and then thinking 4″ trim on the outside. That bottom window ledge is the killer…
I was wondering if it is ok to use your “Deer Crossing” picture as the desktop on my computer at work. Wisconsin weather is rough right now and I need to be in my “happy place”. Your picture is putting me there.
I love your site so much and it helps me through the days in the city.
Really, really gorgeous photo! I feel like I am right there. Wow!
Beautiful deer … Prize photo….
