Wire Woven Pendants

Posted on April 4, 2016April 3, 2016

Whoops.  Forgot about those chick pics… let’s do the latest craft instead.

I’ve been playing with copper wire.

wire wrapYou’ve seen the heart before.  Now I’ve added two feathers to the collection.  The first one was two toned, and I didn’t like it because of the looseness of the wraps.  My second feather doesn’t have any angle to it.  Hey, someday I will figure this out!

While I took notes from those of you who sent me techniques of oxidation (and a BIG THANK YOU, by the way!), I just went with Liver of Sulphur.  A few drops in warm water and within minutes…

wire wrap oxidationWhat a change!

wire jewelryI took a bit of the oxidation off… ta-da!  Whattya think?

I love ’em.  There’s lots to learn with this, but I’m liking the process.  Maybe someday I’ll have to have a give away!  Anyone interested?

Yes, either color is nice. If I were to choose one, I’d probably like the
bright copper. You have such great creativity!

The two toned feather is pretty cool. They’re all pretty and I can’t decide if I like the fresh copper, or the oxidized better.
