Well, I’ve thought for years that I needed a bridge down across Little Canyon Creek. I can go on a walk and stay on this side of the creek and yes, I can cover a fair amount of country… but the other side of the creek has always been greener.
There may not be lots of our property on the other side, but the neighbors have repeatedly told me I could hike on their land… and I’ve wanted to!
Now, once again, I have an excuse for going walkabout…
So, the project of the day was installing a walking bridge!
My sister had some wooden platforms left from construction. I stole one that was 13′ long. I was hoping it was long enough to span the creek. I had it stashed in a pile… so the first job was to drag it out of there!
Yeah. I should have scrounged a stouter rope, but, hey, baling twine worked just fine.
It needed a bit of repair. Then off to the creek!
I wandered around trying to find a narrow section of the creek… and finally thought I had found a spot. I was going to measure it. My helper was enthusiastic.
But not very helpful.
I just drug the platform to the creek edge.
I tied a rope to a fencing tool and tossed it across the creek. Thankfully, I didn’t lose it in the creek. Yay for Girl Scout knot tying!
I drove the side by side around to the other side and hooked onto the rope.
There ya go.

Googled “girl scout knot tying” – and learned some clever stuff!
P.S. You sure have mastered that cliffhanger thing! 🙂
Hah! Looks like a good short-term solution. We’ve talked for a couple years now about erecting a pedestrian bridge over the eastern creek separating the house from the workshop shed.
the other side of the creek, just like the other side of the fence? greener & out of reach- the other side of my creek is really grown up to weeds & brush now, when fall comes & the first frost, I’ll give it a good cleaning- famous last words! when I had Sam dog, there were oh so many walkabouts-
