A Little Early

Posted on December 13, 2021December 13, 2021

A while back, Vernon, of course, wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday/Christmas. It’s often difficult to find something… because a) I have just about everything I want b) at least the stuff that won’t set you back tons of $$$ (like new windows in the house). He’s the same way… he’d take a) better cattle prices b) less stress c) new equipment/pickup/whatever…

I happened to have mentioned something I’ve wanted for YEARS, but I won’t buy because it’s expensive. And, in a weird twist, it’s an article of clothing! People that know me know I HATE to shop for clothes. Today, we went to Buffalo to try on (and buy) a wool hoodie from Mountain Meadow Wool!

Squeeeeeeee!

I’ve talked about this local wool mill that buys local wool from local sheep ranchers and makes local roving and yarn and bags and hats and scarves and gloves and rugs and tons of stuff! They’ve been making hoodies and crew neck sweaters for a while… and I’ve lusted after them. Besides, did I mention they’re LOCAL?

I’ve been a fan for years. I’ve taken their tour (which I highly recommend) and if I was a knitter, I’d be poor. Secretly, if I lived in Buffalo, I’d love to work in their dye department. Their gift shop has grown tremendously, and I just could spend so much money there! (if I had money!)

So… you say… where are the photos? Well, I took time lapse video going over the mountain. It will show up in a few weeks on my ranch videos. But, somehow… I didn’t take a single one at the gift shop. I get a big giant F for my photographic journal! Vernon took one of me with my hoodie on, just giddy after the purchase… and his phone won’t email or air drop to me… so… no pics.

Well. There’s that.

I think I was just too excited! Plus Vernon just told me to wear it home and so I don’t have to wait until Christmas! I’m wearing it now… and probably every day for the foreseeable future! I might as well enjoy my early present all I can!

Go to their website or follow them on Facebook or email… they have yarn clubs and patterns and giveaways… yay for Mountain Meadow Wool and Wyoming!

Sounds a wonderful day for you and Vernon. I’ve saved the web page and will enjoy looking at it later and slowly as there is much to see.
