Honestly.
57 degrees today. 70 something predicted for Sunday and Monday then back to the 40’s with moisture on Tuesday.
It’s hard on the baby calves… these temperature swings.
But it is what it is… and besides, like Vernon said today… it’s nice to wear shoes again. Wearing snow boots or muck boots is amazingly heavy! Now that spring has dried up the majority of the ground, wearing hikers, cowboy boots, or even tennis shoes is finally acceptable again!
There’s green grass growing. The sandhill cranes are back. Red winged blackbirds whirr and trill. I haven’t seen a blue bird yet, nor are my vultures back… but I expect they’ll arrive any day!
Calves are still being born… and I’m sure they appreciate the warmer temperatures.
Vernon calls Daniel to bring down the horse trailer to load a cow and calf who need more bonding time together.

The music is the one that makes music. You cannot make an album without a band or an artist, without it being the one for you to hear and then play. With music, it’s all about the chemistry, it’s all about the sound. I am not saying it this way because of my own personal preference, no, this is a fact that everyone in existence today knows. Well to know more, I have had it explained for me before and maybe it will resonate as well: music. Now this does hold the key because music will be here in form and it’s the same in every industry of it. There is an industry that has created great works of art through music as well and its called Art. Yes as well Art has had its share of hits as well. A great example is Jimi Hendrix of course a band that was just as known for the melodies. But what separates it from other bands was the soul and emotion behind the songs, the melody never really touched the fans, but there were songs where the emotion, the pain, hurt, and tears of a child at the end were caught. These are just a couple examples of how we love these music even though they’re very different. The world…
Yup, I just, kinda sorta, put my boots away (in my mind, at least) when winter brought more snow, wind, and cold. I can imagine these swings in temperatures are hard on calves. You have to be very vigilant!
Glad you’ve got the warmer weather to enjoy even if it is only for a few days. In Middle England we’ve enjoyed some warm days with temps in the high 60’s. Tomorrow we put our clocks forward and guess what: the weather goes back to late winter/early spring. But it was nice to enjoy while it lasted.
