National Day of the American Cowboy. Most people don’t know the difference between a cowboy and a rancher and that’s ok. We’re still out here, backs bent, head down, teeth gritted, meeting whatever comes our way. We’re part of that 1.5% of the population feeding 330 million three meals a day. Sometimes it seems like people hate us, but all I can do is tell our story on my blog. Because every day we’re here. Because we’re teaching the next two generations how to carry on this life. Because this is what we love. I thank God for my blessings every night. I thank God I’m a rancher and an American Cowboy.

This is better on Instagram because they let me put the music I wanted with this short video. I did make one oopsie… sticking in the wrong pic of Reagan (and Daniel) that I had planned… so it gets prominence as my header photo!

Well done on all the hard work you do. Our UK farmers are struggling for a variety of reasons, yet we all expect our milk and meat to be in the store each week.
Amen to that, Sarah. The rancher has all the good and bad.
Wish there had been sound like on the movies….
I would define cowboy someone as the owner of a saddle and at least one good horse. (Urban cowboy, owner of a ‘cowboy’ hat, boots and the biggest belt buckle you’ve ever seen!)
Rancher owns all of the above plus the mortgage, the stock and the bills…
Very abbreviated list of attributes though.
