It’s never good when you are driving through a neighbor’s pasture to your own and recognize your own cattle. What the heck? We popped over the hill and found the reason… the gate lay on the ground, gate stick broken.
So began a list of work.
Herd our cattle back into our pasture.
Remove neighbor’s cattle from our pasture.
Repair fence.
Repair gate.
Repair water tank.
Repair intake for said water tank.
Water is low in this pond. Cows tromped around and messed up the intake. We were busy and didn’t check the water (which we usually do everyday). No water in this one tank meant they would have to hike to the other side of the pasture to another tank, but no. It was easier to break down the gate and crawl through the fence.
Silly cows.
We got it done, though, with reinforcement from Daniel.
Just goes to show if you think you can squeak by with not checking the temperamental water system ONE DAY, things can fall apart! It cost us an hour and a half of work… but the day was nice and I spotted this treasure watching us from the shadows on the way back home!
Find me here!
I’m kind of impressed that all that only took 90 minutes. Blue skies and a fox as an inspector or a “What the heck are you doing.”
At least the day was beautiful even if the extra work was unplanned. Things are always better with a blue sky.
Oh dear, that is quite a story! So much work to repair and get things back to normal. I wonder who the ‘leader of the pack’ (herd) was? Glad all things turned out well. Love the fox at the end.
Whoops a daisy! But what a beautiful day!!
