Third time’s a charm. I’d been trying to make it to the mountain, a special place I should be visiting more… but there’s ranch work, and house work, and a dozen other excuses… but I’m determined to change that. If winter allows it, I hope to start making this more of a habit. Best of all, today I brought a special guest… my sister.
We hiked a bit and explored and then decided to build a fire pit for me to continue to use on my visits.
I had brought granola bars and string cheese, but my sister loves cooking and food… she lamented not bringing a cutting board, but I had it covered. A dozen steps down the hillside and back, and our charcuterie board was installed.
Pork loin, onion, cheese, and homemade crackers made with ghee. Our little fire was prepared with the thought of a cup of coffee, but, alas, her instant coffee was AWOL… and then we realized we should have grabbed a bottle of her homemade wine. Next time we will be more prepared!
Somehow, we whiled away the day, discussing what I’d hope to do here in this special spot, enjoying the sunshine, and the quiet, and the scenery.
A great place to enjoy time with your sister.
You have the best scenery!
What is the cute vehicle in the first picture? It looks like a miniature pickup.
Looks like a lovely spot with the mountains in the background…perfect special getaway for relaxing in the quiet. Nice to have a sister near by to share it, too.
What a beautiful place! And to share with your sister is the best!
Loved the board you found looks like it worked great.
